Remembrance Service at Up Holland War Memorial – 9 November 2025

Members of Up Holland Parish Council attended the annual Remembrance Service on Sunday 9 November 2025, joining Up Holland Churches Together, community representatives and residents at the War Memorial

Published: 12 December 2025

The service provided an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and remembrance of all those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.  Readings and prayers were led by local clergy, and the traditional two-minute silence was observed at 11am.

A series of wreaths were laid as part of the ceremony, including tributes from Parish, Borough and County Councillors; a wreath laid on behalf of Ashley Dalton MP; and further wreaths from Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service, Lancashire Police, the Scouts, and several other local organisations.

The Parish Council wishes to express its appreciation to everyone who attended or contributed to the organisation of the event.  The continued commitment of the community to honouring our shared history ensures that remembrance remains an important part of village life.
